Bright. Aromatic. Intensely Australian.
Bring the unmistakable citrus character of Australian Lemon Myrtle to your kitchen with our small-batch Wildhorse Lemon Myrtle Finishing Salt.
Made with mineral-rich Pink Himalayan Salt, our Lemon Myrtle and finely dried lemon peel, this simple blend lets one of Australia’s most intensely aromatic native botanicals take centre stage.
The Lemon Myrtle Difference
Lemon Myrtle is renowned for its exceptionally high natural citral content — the aromatic compound responsible for its distinctive lemon fragrance.
This is what gives Lemon Myrtle its remarkable “more-lemon-than-lemon” character.
Unlike fresh lemon juice, Lemon Myrtle brings an intense lemon aroma without adding acidity. Its fragrant citrus oils can lift rich, savoury flavours and bring brightness and balance to foods without making them taste sour.
That’s why we love it with foods such as grilled fish, chicken, pork, roasted vegetables and avocado.
And because the flavour is so concentrated, a little goes a long way.
Why We Made It
We wanted to create a finishing salt that didn’t hide Lemon Myrtle behind a long list of ingredients.
Just three simple ingredients:
Pink Himalayan Salt — provides the savoury foundation and helps carry the aromatic botanicals.
Lemon Myrtle — the hero, delivering an intensely fragrant, clean and naturally sweet citrus character.
Lemon Peel — adds depth and familiarity, bringing the warmth and rounded character of real citrus zest.
Together they create a bright, aromatic seasoning with a clean salty finish and a distinctive Australian character.
Best Used as a Finishing Salt
For the most intense Lemon Myrtle experience, sprinkle it over your food just before serving.
The warmth of freshly cooked food helps release the fragrant botanical oils, creating a beautiful burst of citrus aroma.
Try it on:
- Grilled barramundi and other seafood
- Prawns and scallops
- Chicken and pork
- Roast potatoes
- Carrots, pumpkin and cauliflower
- Avocado and tomato
- Fresh green salads
- Eggs and smashed avocado
- Homemade dips and dressings
- Corn on the cob
- Freshly roasted nuts
It is also beautiful around the rim of a cocktail glass or mixed into butter, mayonnaise or olive oil for an instant citrus lift.
Our Homestead Kitchen Tip
Don’t save this one for the cooking pot.
Finish with it.
Sprinkle over hot food immediately before serving and let the residual warmth release the aromatic Lemon Myrtle oils. You’ll notice the fragrance before you even take your first bite.
For roasted nuts, toss warm nuts with a little olive oil and sprinkle with Lemon Myrtle Finishing Salt while still warm.
