The Keeper’s Coast Journey is a private guided 4WD experience from Rocky Creek Escape to Double Island Point Lighthouse via Rainbow Beach — led by someone who once called the lighthouse home.

Michelle lived at the lighthouse as a child. Her father was the keeper. Her mother educated four young daughters in isolation — without services, without infrastructure, without outside noise.

Today, she returns not as a resident — but as your guide.

Travel from the peaceful surrounds of Wildhorse Homestead to the iconic Double Island Point, driving through inland forest tracks, along expansive beaches, and up to panoramic coastal views overlooking the southern tip of K’gari.

Led as a tag-along experience, you’ll follow our vehicle while learning the route, conditions, and hidden highlights along the way.

Is this a private tour?
Yes. All Keeper’s Coast Journey bookings are private for your group only (maximum 2 adults + 1 child).
How many people can stay?
The cabin sleeps 2 adults. Children can camp outdoors for an extended experience.
Does pricing change?
Yes, pricing may vary depending on seasonal demand and fuel costs.
Do we need a 4WD?
If selecting the Follow-Along option, yes — a suitable 4WD vehicle is required.
Do I need to pay a deposit or the full amount upfront?
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking with full payment due a minimum of 7 days prior to checkin
What is the cancellation policy?
Bookings may be cancelled and fully refunded up to 7 days prior to check-in
What if weather or tides are unsuitable?
Safety is our priority. If conditions are unsafe, we will reschedule your coastal experience within your stay where possible, or provide alternative arrangements.
How physically demanding is the lighthouse walk?
The walk includes incline and uneven ground. Guests should have reasonable mobility and comfort walking outdoors.
Can we swim, fish or surf during the experience?
This is not a supervised surf lesson. Ocean entry is at guest discretion and subject to conditions. Safety advice will be provided
